Maxine Grothe

Maxine Grothe, 79, of Mediapolis, died Saturday evening, Sept. 25, 2004, at the Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant.

      The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 30 at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis, with the Rev. Ronald Green officiating. Burial will follow at the Beauchamp Cemetery in rural Crawfordsville. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29 at the funeral home, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial has been established for the Mediapolis Community Ambulance Service.

Survivors include a daughter, Carla Menees of Mediapolis; a son, Cleo Kephart of Hannibal, Mo.; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Christie Rickey of Tempe, Ariz.; and a great-aunt, Frances Asher of Mt. Pleasant.

      In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
