Maxine L. Steele

Maxine L. Steele, 84, of Washington, died January 8, 2005 at Washington Care Center, following declining health.

      The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13 at the United Methodist Church in Washington, with the Pastor Julie Poulsen officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery with military rites. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12 at Beatty Funeral Home in Washington, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial has been established to Hospice of Washington County.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Mike and his wife Jean Steele of Mt. Pleasant, and Kim and his wife Rosi Steele of Des Moines; and a grandson.

      She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Burdell R. Marshall.
