MOUNT PLEASANT ? Maxine Seberg, 94, of Mount Pleasant, died Sunday, June 28, 2015, in Sunrise Terrace Care Center in Winfield.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 3, at Finley Chapel with the Rev. Jim Stiles and the Rev. Jeff McPheron officiating. Burial will be in the Finley Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 to 7 p.m., Thursday at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Finley Chapel Cemetery Association.
Mrs. Seberg was born Nov. 25, 1920, in Washington County, the daughter of R. John and Anna (Metzger) Davis. She married Carl R. Seberg on Feb. 1, 1942, in Olds.
She was a 1938 graduate of Olds High School. A devoted mother and farm wife, she was a dedicated homemaker and supported her husband and children in their many activities. She was a member of Finley Chapel, an active member of the United Methodist Women, and played the piano for opening exercises during Sunday school. She played many solos during Sunday morning worship. She also enjoyed singing with her sisters at special times. For many years she was an enthusiastic worker in the Finley Chapel food tent at Old Threshers. Known as having a supportive nature, she was always willing to help others, and people felt very welcome in her home.
Surviving are three sons, Steve Seberg and wife Amy Cornwell of Winnebago, Ill., Rich Seberg and wife Jeanie of Mount Pleasant, and Randy Seberg and wife Kathy of Mount Pleasant; one daughter, Susie Stalder and husband Mark of Mount Pleasant; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 15 step-great-grandchildren; three step-great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Graber of Mount Pleasant; and two brothers, Dean Davis and wife Joyce of New London, and Jerry Davis and wife Sharon of Salem.
She was preceded in death by her husband, on Dec. 21, 2014; an infant son, Michael Lynn Seberg; two brothers, Ken Davis, and Don Davis; two sisters, Arlene Kremer, and June Hunter; and one infant great-grandson.
