Melinda Chiquita DeGeorge, 49, of Rome, passed away Sunday, Oct. 18, 2020, in the emergency room of the Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.

Melinda was born July 4, 1971, in Keosauqua, Iowa, the daughter of Richard and Peggy (Wixom) Holden. She enjoyed life to the fullest and was a very loving and caring person. She enjoyed fishing, watching TV and Chinese food. Melinda had an amazing sense of humor, was a mother to all and was an amazing cook.

She is survived by her children, Amber Waller of Rome, Rose-Marie Steele of Sigourney, Shelvie (Richard) Ewoldt of Mount Pleasant and Brittannee Waller of New London; eight grandchildren; her mother, Peggy Cox of Tyrone, Pa.; and two sisters, Lara Shondel and Jaime Fowler, both of New London.

Melinda's family will host a Celebration of Life Service from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, at the New London Community Center in New London. According to her wishes ,cremation has been entrusted to the care of Murphy Funeral Home of Mount Pleasant.
