Melvin F. Schneider

Melvin F. Schneider, 84, of Washington died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2006 in the Washington County Hospital following a sudden illness.

      Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 30 in the St. James Catholic Church in Washington with the Rev. Ed O'Melia officiating. Interment with military honors conducted by the Washington American Legion Post No. 29 will take place in the St. Joseph Cemetery in East Pleasant Plain. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Sunday in the Jones-Eden Funeral Home, Washington, where the family will receive friends from 3 until 5 p.m. A Prayer service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday followed by a Knights of Columbus rosary. A general memorial fund has been established.

      Mr. Schneider was born Aug. 17, 1922 in Riverside, the son of Peter and Agnes (Streb) Schneider. He married Loretta Fritz on Sept. 10, 1949 ion St. Joseph's Church in East Pleasant Plain.
