Menno Helmuth

    KALONA ? Menno Helmuth, 88, of Kalona, died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010, in Pleasantview Home in Kalona following a lingering illness.

    Celebration of life services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 22, at the East Union Mennonite Church in rural Kalona with the Rev. Floyd Helmuth and the Rev. Lloyd Helmuth officiating. Burial was in the East Union Cemetery. Visitation was held Saturday at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. A memorial fund for Pleasantview Home and East Union Mennonite Church has been established.

    Mr. Helmuth was born March 31, 1922, in Kalona, the son of Chris I. and Mary (Miller) Helmuth. He married Dorothy E. Kreider on Feb. 11, 1951, at the Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church.
