Merle Guy Silvers

      Merle Guy Silvers, 75, of Fairfield, died Monday, Aug. 6, 2007, at home.

      A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Dave Elmore officiating. The body has been cremated. Burial of cremains will be at a later date.

      No family visitation is planned.

      In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Silvers family at 404 S. Fourth St., Fairfield 52556.

      Mr. Silvers was born June 23, 1932, in rural Oskaloosa, the son of Guy Merle and Ruby McNeese Silvers. He married Wanda Joan Swim Nov. 3, 1951, in Eddyville.
