Merle Kenneth Bates
Merle Kenneth Bates, 71, of Washington, died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002, at Lake of the Ozarks, following a sudden illness.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, at Washington United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Don Hodson officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Elm Grove Cemetery. Visitation begins at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Crooked Creek Christian Camp or an agriculture scholarship.
