Merle Maxted

      SIGOURNEY - Merle Maxted, 81, of Sigourney, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007, in his home following a brief illness.

      Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, in the Sigourney United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Hembry officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Reynolds-Powell Funeral Chapel in Sigourney, where there will be a Masonic and Eastern Star service at 7 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for the Shepherding committee at the Sigourney United Methodist Church.

      Mr. Maxted was born May 19, 1926, in Peru, Neb., the son of Cyril and Bessie (Hutchinson) Maxted. He married Alta Sandridge on Aug. 20, 1947, in Kimball, Neb.
