Merrill Eugene Fleig

      Merrill Eugene Fleig, 72, of Fairfield died Saturday, August 25, 2007 at his home.

      Merrill was born May 5, 1935 in Stockport, the son of Leonard Franklin and LaRue Jane Fischer Fleig. He married Charlotte Mae Billman on June 11, 1961 in Washington.

      A memorial celebration of his life will be at 10:30 A.M. Thursday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield with Pastor Danny Cary and Reverend Richard Iles of Waukon officiating. Lunch will be served at the V.F.W. Club, 121 East Broadway, following the memorial service.

      Family burial of cremains will be at a later date.

      Visitation with the family will be at 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

      In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Camp Courageous of Iowa or to a fund benefiting his grandchildren's education. Memorials and cards can be sent to 1627 Highway 1, Fairfield, Iowa 52556.

      Arrangements are in the care of the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.
