Merwyn L. Schlabach
KALONA - Merwyn L. Schlabach, 16, of Kalona, died Sunday, July 7, 2002, in a swimming accident at Palisades-Kepler State Park near Mt. Vernon.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, at Fairview Mennonite Church north of Kalona. Ministers in charge are Elvin Martin, Larry Zook and Herbert Miller. Burial will be in the Peter Miller Cemetery. Visitation began at 1 p.m. today at the church, where the family will receive friends from 1 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. A general memorial fund has been established. The Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona is in charge of arrangements.
