Micah D. Miller

KALONA ? Micah David Miller, 32, of Wellman, died Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016, from an automobile accident near Ludington, Michigan.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 4, at the Upper Deer Creek Mennonite Church in rural Wellman. Burial will be in the Upper Deer Creek Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m., Monday, Oct. 3, at the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona, where the family will greet friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for Micah Miller family.

Mr. Miller was born Jan. 4, 1984, in Harrisonburg, Virginia, the son of Elmer R. and Ileen (Bender) Miller. He married Miranda Schaeffer on Sept. 1, 2012, near Kalona.

He attended Pathway School and graduated from Kirkwood Community College. He worked at Kalonial Lawn Care. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on cars, and crafting. He was very creative, and there was nothing he couldn?t figure out or fix.

Surviving are his wife, Miranda; two children, Merin, and Murdoc Miller of Wellman; his parents, Elmer and Ileen Miller of Kalona; one brother, Jared Miller and wife Mandi of Wellman; two sisters, Bethany Adams and husband Jeffrey of Wellman, and Katelyn Miller of Columbus, Ohio; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Matthew and Diane Schaeffer of Wellman; two sisters-in-law, Katrina Oaklander and husband Leo of Westminster, Colorado, and Eliza Schaeffer and husband Tyler of Iowa City; three nieces; two nephews; and his grandmothers, Ila Bender of Kalona, and Edna Miller of Kalona.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Harold Ray Bender, and Mahlon E. Miller.
