Michael Eugene Bostock, 59 of Seymour, Ind., formerly of Ft. Madison, died Thursday, Jan. 31, at Seymour Hospital in Seymour.
His body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9 at Voss and Sons Funeral Home in Seymour, Ind. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, at Barr Memorial Chapel in Ft. Madison. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Brenda Goodall officiating. The service will conclude with full military rites conducted by the Ft. Madison Veterans Honor Guard. A private family burial will be held at a later date at Vernon Cemetery, near Keosauqua.
A memorial has been established for the American Heart Association and the First United Methodist Church in Ft. Madison. Barr Memorial Chapel in Ft. Madison is in charge of arrangements; Online condolences may be made at www.barrmemorialchapel.com.
He was born April 6, 1948 at Carthage, Ill, the son of Charles and Darlene Scanlan Bostock.
A 1966 graduate of Ft. Madison High School, he served in the U.S. Navy as a Sea Bee. He worked as an Executive Chef for 25 years.
He is survived by three daughters, DeDe Doak of Mt. Union, Minde Bostock of Burlington and Abbi Bostock, of Hermiston, Ore.; three sons, Travis Bostock of Burlington, Josh Bostock of Ft. Madison and Justin Bostock, of Wichita, Kan.; one stepdaughter, Erin Donaldson of Dallas City; two stepsons, Jeremiah Donaldson and Michael Donaldson, both of Dallas City; four brothers, Clayton Calhoun and Robert Calhoun, both of Bryan, Texas, and Mike Calhoun of College Station, Texas, and Rick Calhoun of Independence, Mo.; 16 grandchildren, and his special friend, Bessie Mae French of Seymour, Ind.
His parents, one brother and two granddaughters preceded him in death.
