Michael Ellison

Michael Ellison, 60, of East Peoria, Illinois, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007 at his home.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, at Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Donnellson. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Apo Mpanda officiating.

A memorial has been established in his memory.

He was born March 9, 1947, in Keokuk, the son of Charles and Mary Symmonds Ellison. A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, he served during the Vietnam war and received the Purple Heart. He worked for the United States Postal Service.

He is survived by his father, Charles Ellison of Donnellson; four brothers, Charles E. Ellison of Donnellson, Richard Ellison and his wife Honor of Donnellson, Pat Ellison and his wife Kathy of Augusta, and Steven Ellison and his wife Anna Maria of Redondo Beach, California; five sisters, Barbara Mansheim and her husband Tom of West Point, Mary Ziegler and her husband Ron of Morton, Ill., Kathy Tweedy and her husband Steve of Revere, Mo., Cheryl Gelstein and her husband Larry of St. Louis, Mo. and Janice Ekle and her husband Rick of Farmington.

His mother preceded him in death.
