Michael Greenfield
MICHAEL GREENFIELD
Douds
Michael Greenfield, 67, of Douds, Iowa, passed away on September 24, 2020, at his home with his family by his side. He was born on May 20, 1953, to Cyrus and Geneva Cooper Greenfield in Keosauqua, Iowa. Mike graduated from Keosauqua High School, with the Class
of 1971. He married Debora Brown on June 6, 1975, and together they raised two daughters, Sarah and Emily.
Mike worked at Dexter Laundry for more than 25 years, he had to take an early retirement after an injury in 2008. Prior to working at Dexter, he was a carpenter and built several houses in the area, as well as working at Al-Jon in Ottumwa and Dick's Auto Body in Fairfield. Mike had the ability to build, fix, repair or even invent anything and he took great pride in his work. He enjoyed being outdoors, was always working on a project or tinkering with something. Most of all he was a great dad and excellent grandpa who greatly enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Deb; two daughters, Sarah Greenfield of Libertyville, Iowa, and Emily Pilcher (Tylor) of Fairfield, Iowa; a sister, Sondra Dick (James); two brothers, Dwain Greenfield (Lyn), Bill Greenfield (Lori); five grandchildren, Haley and Audrey Bailey, Thea, Landen and Keegan Pilcher; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cyrus and Geneva Greenfield; two brothers, Jim and Richard Greenfield; infant sister, Cynthia Greenfield; and brother-in-law, Keith Smith.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 28, 2020, at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua with Pastor Danny Cary officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 27, 2020, with family present to greet friends from 2 to 4:00 p.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua. Burial will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery east of Douds, Iowa.
