Michael L. Kaufman

      Michael L. Kaufman, 51, of Wayland, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008, at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant following a five-year battle with cancer.

      A celebration of life service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington, Iowa, with the Rev. Don Lowe officiating. Interment, with military honors conducted by Washington American Legion Post No. 29, will take place at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington, Iowa.

      Visitation began at noon today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6-8 p.m.

      Mr. Kaufman was born June 7, 1956, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Raymond and Luella Alliman Kaufman. He married Donna Peiffer April 30, 1976, in Riverside, Calif.
