Michael Lyon McIllece,

      KEOTA-Michael Lyon McIllece, 63, of Keota, died Friday, Dec. 26, 2003, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, of cancer.

      Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 30, at Holy Trinity Parish-St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota, with the Rev. Marty Goetz officiating. Burial with military rites accorded will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Keota. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today, at Powell Funeral Home in Keota, with family present from 3 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for cancer research.

      Mr. McIllece was born on Sept. 21, 1940, in Norfolk, Va., to Raymond and Mary (Lyon) McIllece. On Jan. 23, 1976, he married Denise Buck in Ogalala, Neb.
