Michael Stephen Peiffer

Michael Stephen Peiffer, 49, died Thursday morning, Sept. 28, 2000, at West Point.

      The funeral service was 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 2, at the Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield with the Revs. Jane Rymut and Ed Newman officiating. Family visitation was 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1, at the Behner Funeral Home. Burial was in Lockridge Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Lockridge Emergency Response.

      Mr. Peiffer was born Feb. 13, 1951, at Washington, the son of Herb and Doris Jean Duttweiler Peiffer. He married Debra Burnham Nov. 10, 1978, at Lockridge. He lived in the Lockridge and Fairfield area for 32 years, working as a bus driver for the Fairfield school system and recently beginning a job driving semi trucks for Big Cedar Contracting. He was a member of the Lockridge City Council, assistant fire chief of the Lockridge Fire Department, a Lockridge First Responder, and a church council member of First Augustana Lutheran Church of Lockridge

      Survivors include his wife; his mother, of Fairfield; children Ronald and Amanda of Lockridge; a sister; Donna Kaufman of Wayland; a brother, Anthony Peiffer, of Fairfield; and one granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Robert Peiffer; and both sets of grandparents.
