KALONA ? Milan Nayadley, 90, of West Chester, died Monday, July 18, 2016, in Parkview Manor in Wellman.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, July 21, at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona with the Rev. Joseph Brown and the Rev. Dan Woodward officiating. Burial will follow at the Wellman Public Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service, Thursday at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established for the West Chester First Responders.
Mr. Nayadley was born July 12, 1926, near Kalona, the son of Fred and Emily (Lamoraux) Nayadley. He married Jeanette Dougherty on Aug. 15, 1952, in Sigourney.
He attended Maple Grove rural school. He worked at various places, including the railroad, the Wellman Creamery, Amana, the VA Hospital and the University of Iowa. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing the guitar, and music.
Surviving are his wife, Jeanette, of West Chester; one son, Jeff Nayadley of West Chester; one sister, Donna Kelley of Wellman; one brother-in-law, Bill Dougherty and wife Rose of Cedar Rapids; three nephews; and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Milburn Nayadley; and one brother-in-law, Cecil Kelley.
