Mildred Allee
Mildred Allee, 83, of Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, Oct. 16, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 20, at 2 p.m. at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel, with Dr. William H. Morehouse officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery.

Born Oct. 2, 1924, in Victor, Mildred Kathryn was the daughter of Henry and Stella Roshek Meyer. She attended Guernsey High School. On May 25, 1940, she married Robert George Allee in Kirksville, Mo.
The Allees lived in Cedar Rapids for two years following their marriage. The couple then moved to Mt. Pleasant to their longtime home on Locust Street. Millie worked at Kennedy's Dairy for 11 years while her children were in school. In 1964, she went to work as a teller at the Henry County Savings Bank. She retired in 1987. After her retirement, she continued to work part-time at the bank.
Millie was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant. She loved watching high school and college sports, and was an avid Cubs fan. She enjoyed gardening and delighted in raising beautiful flowers. She especially loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband Robert of Mt. Pleasant; two daughters, Sandra Wendel and her husband Rich of Urbana and Carol Calloway and her husband Bill of Cedar Rapids; a daughter-in-law, Sue Allee of Cedar Falls; and one sister, Luella Fruendt of Victor. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, several sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Millie was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Gary Allee; four sisters; one brother; and by a grandson, Matthew Wendel.
