Mildred Magdefrau Rainier

Mildred Magdefrau Rainier passed away on January 20, 2008 at Bishop's Glen Health Care Center in Holly Hill, Florida. She was nearly 100 years old and a member of Seabreeze United Church of Christ of Daytona Beach, where she served as president of the Women's' Fellowship and had been a member of the Board of Deacons. A memorial service will take place at the Seabreeze Church on February 9.

      She had lived in Florida since 1983, when she and her late husband, Paul, retired there. Born in 1908 in Wayland, Iowa, Mrs. Rainier was a graduate of Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. After her marriage to Paul Rainier in 1931, she moved to Adrian, Michigan, where she taught music education in the public schools.
