Miles J. Rukgaber

Miles J. Rukgaber, 82, of Mt. Pleasant, died Friday, March 4, 2005, at Pleasant Manor Care Center in Mt. Pleasant.

      The funeral service was at 1:30 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant, with the Rev. Dr. Edward R. Peterson officiating. Burial was in Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant, with graveside military honors conducted by Henry County Veterans Honor Guard. A memorial has been established to the VFW Post No. 2561 or the First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Mike and his wife Linda Rukgaber of Kansas City, Mo.; three daughters, Sharon and her husband Robert Messer of Machesney Park, Ill., Linda and her husband Lee McWilliams of Mt. Pleasant, and Diane and her husband Ernie Rodgers of Truth or Consequences, N.M.; a sister, Evelyn and her husband Orville Roth of Wayland; and 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

      In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.
