Mitch was born January 16, 1961, in Buffalo Center, Iowa, the son of Eston and Linda (Pech) Johnson. He graduated from Spencer High School and later graduated from the University of Texas/Pan American. Mitch was united in marriage to Connie Stalder on July 19, 1986, in Washington, Iowa.
Mitch lived in Irmo, South Carolina, for 33 years before recently retiring and moving to Washington, Iowa, to be closer to family. He worked as a Chemist and Lab Manager for Safety-Kleen Systems in Lexington, South Carolina. He was an active member and Elder of Fellowship Bible Church, and attended Grace Community Church after moving to Washington. Mitch was a kind, generous, and intelligent man. He was appreciative and thankful for the many blessings he received throughout his life. He tried to live his life to honor and serve God, his wife, and his family in whatever he did. We will dearly miss him but rejoice that he is completely healed and in his Savior’s presence for eternity.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Johnson of Washington, Iowa; son, Micah Johnson and wife Janelle of Crawfordsville, Iowa; son, Joshua Johnson of Arlington, Virginia; two grandchildren: Jenna and Landon Johnson; father, Eston Johnson of Thompson, Iowa; brother, Dan Johnson and wife Barb of Valley Center, California; brother, Tony Johnson and wife Becky of Ft. Myers, Florida; sister, Carolyn Flo and husband Scott of Thompson, Iowa; as well as many nieces and nephews.
