Modest J. DeWulf

      LONE TREE - Modest J. DeWulf, 97, of Lone Tree, formerly of Nichols, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2007, in the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City following a brief illness.

      Private family funeral services will be held at a later date with Carol Kaalberg, Parish Life Coordinator, officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in East Moline, Ill. There will be no visitation. Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services, Lone Tree, is in charge of the arrangements.

      Mr. DeWulf was born June 21, 1910, in East Moline, the son of Theophiel and Irma (Van DeWiele) DeWulf. He married Doris Lydy. Following her death, he married Marie LaChance in 1972 in St. Petersburg, Fla.
