Mona “Gayle” Fuller, age 83, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2025. A Celebration of Life for Gayle will be held in mid-July 2025, with a burial in Batavia, IA. Friends and family are invited to share memories at a location to be announced at a later date.

Gayle was born on September 27, 1941 in Des Moines, IA to Wilma Jean King. She was adopted by Roy and Helen Peery and grew up in Southeast Iowa. She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1961.

She was married three times, to Don C. Burgess Sr., Robert L. Barnett, and Dave Fuller, and she outlived all of them. In her later years, Gayle resided in Le Sueur, MN, where she enjoyed playing bingo, reading, and watching cooking and game shows.

Gayle had a bubbly personality and a passion for helping others, which she expressed through her work as a home health aide. She loved chatting with people and always brought joy to those around her. Gayle’s warmth, kindness, and love for life will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Don C. Burgess, Jr., and his wife, Kristin; two granddaughters, Lena May Burgess & Nyssa (Kyle) Skellenger; and her sister, Virginia (Dave).
