Monte Dean Darbyshire Burrus
Monte Dean Darbyshire Burrus, 25, of Longmont, Colo., formerly of New London died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, at his home in Longmont.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 25, at Elliott Chapel in New London. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in rural Danville. Friends may call after noon on Thursday, Feb. 24 at Elliott Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. that evening. A memorial has been established to the American Diabetes Association.
Mr. Burrus was born Sept. 4, 1974, in Burlington, the son of Richard Cleo and Judith Ann Woodall Darbyshire. He was a 1993 graduate of New London High School. He was a phone tester for U.S. Redial. He loved working on cars and stereo systems. He was an avid Denver Broncos fan, and enjoyed professional wrestling. He also enjoyed karaoke with his buddy, Scott. He liked camping and fishing as a boy. He loved his family very much.
Survivors include his father of New London; his mother and stepfather, Dean Messer, of Longmont, Colo.; a stepfather, Ron Burrus of St. Anthony, Idaho; his grandparents, Bill and Donna Baker of Mt. Pleasant; one sister, Bobbi Burrus of Longmont, Colo.; two step-brothers, Brian Messer of Longmont, Colo. and Adam Messer of Olds; one step-sister, Heidi Messer of Mediapolis; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather and paternal grandparents.
