Morris R. Lowe
Morris Ray "Morrie" Lowe, 57, of rural Mt. Pleasant, died Thursday, Feb. 28, at his home following a courageous battle with cancer.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 8, at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 9, at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Jim Luder officiating. A private family burial will be at Lambirth Cemetery.

He was born June 27, 1950, in Charleston, Mo., the son of Frank and Mary Burns Lowe.
On July 19, 1970, he married Diana Lynn Bennett in Burlington.
A graduate of Carthage High School in Carthage, Ill., he worked at Heatilator, as a foreman and in the set-up operation in the fabrication department. He was a member of the Lockridge Saddle Club and the Salem Lions Club of which he had served as president, as well as the Silver Circle Club of Hearth and Home Technologies.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Janelle Lowe and her husband Bob Bowman of New London and Christy Hribal and her husband Shane of Creston; three brothers, Robert Lowe and his wife Linda of Lomax, Ill., Jim Lowe and his wife Alice of Machesney Park, Ill., and Jerry Lowe and his wife Mary Lea of Carthage; two sisters, Jean Freeman and her husband Gary of Carthage and Ann Londrie and her husband Max of Washington, Ill.; and five grandchildren.
His parents, brother Sam Lowe and sisters Virginia Lowe and Pat Newbanks preceded him in death.
