Morton Ellsworth Dodds

Morton E. Dodds, 84, of Mt. Pleasant, died Friday, Sept. 26, 2008, at Park Place Long Term Care Unit.

Visitation began at noon today, Sept. 29, at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel, 709 Mapleleaf Drive, Mt. Pleasant, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, at First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant, with the Rev. Herb Shafer officiating. Burial will be at Forest Home Cemetery.

Born Aug. 9, 1924, in Burlington, Morton Ellsworth was the son of Ewing and Emma Elizabeth King Dodds. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in Des Moines in 1942. On June 6, 1946, Morton married Barbara Hill in Austin, Texas. She died Oct. 11, 1989. On Oct. 6, 1990, he married Audrey Johnson Kramer in Mt. Pleasant. She survives.
