MYRON LEE KROTZ
Riverside
Myron Lee Krotz was born on November 23, 1938, in Jackson Township, Washington County Iowa, the youngest son of Frank and Aneta (Shebeck) Krotz. He was united in marriage to Joleen Kay Frier on September 12, 1964, in Reinbeck, Iowa.
Myron graduated from Washington High School. After graduation he went on to become a Golden Gloves County Champion and served in the National Guard. He was a Jackson Township Trustee, a board member of the Washington County Cattleman's Association, a member of the Washington County Pork Producers, and also served as a board member of the Mid-Prairie Athletic Boosters.
Myron was a lifelong Farmer, living on and farming the ground of his maternal family's Century Farm. He and his brother Duane worked side by side for many years taking care of their various farms and the livestock they raised.
Myron was an avid gardener with a huge sweet corn patch and numerous other garden plots around the farm. His family was often willingly recruited to help plant and harvest the multitude of crops. He passed on his knowledge and words of wisdom to his daughters and grandchildren.
Myron will be missed so very much by his immediate family, extended family and many friends. He is survived by his wife, Joleen, and his four daughters, Ann (Jake) Henkle, Lynn (Bill) Koenig, Myra Jo (Paul) Kalb and Susan (Phil) McKee; and grandchildren, Jacob, Rachel, Julianna and Daniel Henkle; Amanda Koenig Kappes(James), Emily and Matthew Koenig; MaKenzie Kalb (Alex Clemons), Frederic and Addison Kalb; Jessica and Brooklyn McKee; siblings, Donna Fritz, Larry (Sandra) Krotz and Joyce (Waldo) Spencer; sister-in-law, Bev (Duane) Krotz; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Aneta Krotz; brother, Duane Krotz; nephews, Daniel and William Krotz; and brothers-in-law, Walter Fritz, Ron Stuckey and Wendell Hogan.
Myron fought a courageous battle with cancer. He passed away on February 19, 2022, surrounded by his family.
The family will host a Celebration of Life at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2022, at the United Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall. The Jones & Eden Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be sent for Myron's family through the web at www.jonesfh.com.
