Myron (Mike) A. McCreedy, 96, passed away on January 27,2025, at Haven Of Farmer City Nursing Home, Farmer City, Illinois.
Mike was born at Washington County Hospital, in Washington County, Iowa, on October 4, 1928, to Harry Duane and Carrie (Evans) McCreedy. Mike graduated from Fairfield High School in 1946. He married Margaret J. Zillman on July 28,1946, in Fairfield, Iowa. Margaret preceded him in death, July 20, 2020.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Harry McCreedy, Richard McCreedy, John (Jack) McCreedy and Joan Watkins.
Mike is survived by his three daughters: Susan (Roger) Lawson, Nancy (Marvin) Brombaugh and Carol Graves; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and a brother, Ernest McCreedy.
Mike and Margaret lived in Iowa, Illinois and Oklahoma until their move to Texas. They enjoyed living in Panorama Village, Conroe, Texas for 31 years. Mike then lived at reflections Memory Care, Savoy, Illinois, for two years.
Mike began his 58 years working career as a draftsman for Louden Machinery Company, Fairfield, Iowa. His Last employer was Ace/Gaffey Overhead Cranes and Hoist, Cleveland, Texas. Mike worked as an inside and outside sales representative.
Mike was a longtime member of the BPOE, Scottish Rite and Shriners. Mike was also involved in The Panorama Samaritans and Toys for Tots.
Mike enjoyed carpentry, working on cars, playing golf, traveling and being with family and friends.
Per Mike’s request, there will be no service. Interment will be scheduled at a later date in Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, Iowa.
