N. Marie Sater

N. Marie Sater, 90, of Mt. Pleasant and formerly of Danville, died at 2:50 a.m. on Sunday, May 21, 2000, at Henry County Health Center.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 24, at Danville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Richard Latta officiating. Burial will be in Jaggar Cemetery in Danville. Visitation will be noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lunning Chapel. Family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. A memorial has been established for Park Place Activities Fund of Mt. Pleasant or may be made to Danville United Methodist Church

Mrs. Sater was born March 22, 1910, in Des Moines County, the daughter of William and Una (Bonar) Dockendorff. She married Lloyd C. Sater on August 31, 1935, at Danville.

She was a longtime member of Danville Garden Club, the Entre-Nous Club, and an associate member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. She graduated from Danville High School, received her teaching certificate from attending Monmouth (IL) College and Iowa Wesleyan College, and was a teacher and homemaker.

Survivors include a son, Clair Sater of Los Altos, Calif.; a daughter Shirley Thompson of Fairfield; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, and an infant sister.
