Nancy Jo Turner, age 76, of Washington, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

Nancy was born on July 29, 1947, in Fairfield, Iowa to George and Minnie (Messer) Turner.

Nancy graduated from Washington High School in 1964. She was married to Duane Evans in

1965. They had two children, Ronda and Jeff, then later divorced. Nancy was married to Dennis

Salemink from 2009-2020.

Nancy worked for over 40 years in the medical administrative field, retiring in 2009 after 18

years with Iowa City Heart Center.

She loved singing with the Washington Choral Society for 25 years and had the privilege of

singing with that group at Carnegie Hall on two occasions. In addition, she was a charter

member of Just Us Girls as well as a board member. She was also involved in over 20 shows at

the Washington Community Theater.

Nancy enjoyed volunteer work, making holiday gifts, and sewing projects for family and friends.

She also enjoyed entertaining guests but loved family gatherings most of all.

She is survived by her daughter Ronda (Jon) Meade of West Liberty; her son Jeff (Susan) Evans

of Washington; 4 grandchildren, Hanna Meade and Hank Meade of West Liberty, Dylon Evans of Washington, and Bryanna Evans of East Dubuque, IL, and a great grandson, Michael Evans, of East Dubuque, IL; 2 brothers, Rick (Gretchen) Turner of Tipton, and Jerry JT (Cari) of Washington; 3 nieces and a nephew, and a great-niece. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Family will receive friends to celebrate Nancy’s life from 2:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Jones Eden Funeral Home in Washington.
