Nancy Sweet

RIVERSIDE -- Nancy L. Sweet, 68, of Riverside died Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at her home in rural Riverside after a long illness.

A small, private family burial ceremony was held on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, on their small farm. No memorial has been planned at this time.

Mrs. Sweet was born Sept. 18, 1948, in Seattle, Washington, the daughter of Raymond B. Bower and Margret M. Bower. She married Robert A. Sweet Jr. of Michigan on May 16, 1975, in Washington.

She worked many different employment venues, including University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. She was known for the beautiful mini quilts and many other handcrafted and sewn materials she made with love and care.

Surviving are her husband, Robert; two children, Monica Sweet-Musser and husband Gary of Iowa City, and Robert A. Sweet and wife Tracy of Vinton; four grandchildren; and three sisters, Marge Keough of Wellman, Linda Shelton of Kalona, and Peggy Stewart of Kalona.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
