Neva Mae North, 82, of Bonaparte, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2022, at the Keosauqua Health Care Center.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held Saturday, June 25 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, Bonaparte. Pastor Mark Caston held a private service for family only.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Angela Leazer, 15 N. Sunset Dr., North Liberty, IA 52317 or Ryan North, 4301 Myrtlewood Dr., Sanford, FL 32771; or to the First Baptist Church, Bonaparte, Iowa.

Neva was born December 15, 1939, in Henry County to Kenneth M. and NeElma H. (Mills) Roberts. She married Buddy North on November 11, 1956, in Fairfield, Iowa. He preceded her in death on December 29, 2020.

Neva loved the outdoors, traveling, and Geode hunting. She spent time in her flower gardens, cooking for family, quilting and cross stitch. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bonaparte. She enjoyed spending time with her son and grandchildren.

Neva will be missed by her granddaughter, Angela (Jesse) Leazer, North Liberty, IA; grandson, Ryan North, Sanford, FL; great-grandson, Jaxon Alan Leazer; and her sister, Dorothy (David) Hendricks, Grand Junction, CO.

Neva was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Buddy; son, Alan Bruce North; and her brother, Lee H. Roberts.
