Nicholas Adam

WELLMAN ? Nicholas ?Nick? Joseph Adam, 50, of Wellman, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016, at his home.

A funeral Mass was held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 23, at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Wellman with the Rev. David Brownfield, Ph.D., officiating. Burial was in the Wellman Cemetery. Visitation was from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday at the Powell Funeral Home in Wellman. A memorial fund has been established for his son, Brandon.

Mr. Adam was born June 8, 1965, the son of Vernon ?Bud? and Rose Marie (Cupp) Adam.

He graduated from Mid-Prairie High School in 1984 and attended Kirkwood Community College. He had lived in Columbus Junction, Keota, and Wellman. He had worked for Kalona Plastics, and Proctor and Gamble. He was a member of St. Joseph?s Catholic Church.

Surviving are one son, Brandon Adam of Wellman; six siblings, Jim Adam and wife Cindy of Kalona, Mary Kay Borntreger and husband Amos of Sarasota, Florida, Kenneth Adam and wife Vicki of Kalona, Sandra Joseph and husband Rodney of Williamsburg, David Adam and wife Susan of Kalona, and Jeff Adam and wife Jennifer of Iowa City; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
