Norma Jean Butner

Norma Jean Butner, 77, of Mt. Sterling, died at 6:20 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, 2000, at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua.

      Graveside services and burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 9, in Lockridge Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Brown officiating. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 8, at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua with the family present. Memorials may be made to Van Buren Good Samaritan Center and left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at Route #1, Box 152, Mt. Sterling, Iowa, 52573.

      Mrs. Butner was born July 7, 1923, at Seward, Neb., the daughter of Norman and Myrtle Olson Sipp. She married Donald Butner on April 3, 1947, at Bellvue, Neb. She grew up in Nebraska and western Iowa and later lived in a number of foreign and domestic locations during her husband?s military career. She lived a number of years in Lockridge and moved to Mt. Sterling in 1982.

      Survivors include her husband; three sons, Darrell of Sidney, Forrest of Modesto, Calif. and William of Lockridge; three daughters, Beth Holtkamp of Wapello, Donna Josephson of Ottumwa and Marian Graber of Lockridge; 19 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Lloyd, and an infant granddaughter.
