NORMA JOYCE MABEUS

Norma Joyce Mabeus, 96, of Ottumwa, passed away peacefully June 1, 2021, at her home in Ottumwa with family at her side.

She was born March 27, 1925, on a farm near Salem, Iowa, to Ray and Anna Thompson Stafford and later moved to Mt Pleasant. She married Earl Mabeus in Venice, FL, on September 14, 1943.

In 1957, she moved to Ottumwa with her husband and started Mabeus Precast Concrete Products. She worked in the family businesses with her husband until their retirement in 1984.

Norma was known for her quick sense of humor and love of her family. She enjoyed traveling with Earl and spending time with family after retirement. Later in life, she liked listening to music and doing jigsaw puzzles.

Surviving are two daughters and three sons, Patricia Plummer of Anderson, IN, Cindy Voss of Ottumwa, Doug (Joan) Mabeus of Woodstock, GA, Don Mabeus and Rusty Mabeus of Ottumwa, four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl, of 66 years: her parents; two brothers, Harold and Bob Stafford; a son, Randy Mabeus; and two grandsons, Nicholas Mabeus and Joseph Heusner.

Visitation will begin at noon, Friday, June 4, at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday.

Graveside service and burial will be at Pleasant Point Cemetery near Mt Pleasant on Saturday June 5, at

11 a.m. with Pastor Ed Matthews officiating.
