Norma "Toots" Conrad, age 86, of Keota, died Friday, April 2, 2021, at the Keokuk County Health Center in Sigourney.

Norma was born June 13, 1934, to Maurice and Eunice (Engel) Gowey and graduated from Brighton High School. On September 18, 1952, she married Dennis Conrad in Keota. The couple lived in Keota all their married lives. She had a few jobs but her favorite was as a cook at St. Mary Catholic School. She was a member of Holy Trinity Parish-St. Mary Catholic Church. Toots and Darlene Flynn started a pepper club and she enjoyed bike riding and the Iowa State Fair.

Survivors include her husband, Dennis of Keota; three children, Debra Brayton of Missouri, Rebecca (John) Reinert of Fairfield and Michael (Jennifer) Conrad of Gowrie; eight grandchildren, Nate and Chad Chalupa, Gabriel and Cameron Conrad, Houston Brayton, Murphy Grotewald, Conner and Delaney Conrad; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Julee; two brothers; and three sisters.

Memorial visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at Powell Funeral Home in Keota.
