Norman Ray Wright

Norman Ray Wright, 73, of Independence, Mo., formerly of Fairfield and Ottumwa, died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006, at his residence after an extended illness.

      A service was held Tuesday at St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Independence, Mo. Military services were held at the grave site.

      Mr. Wright was born Oct. 9, 1932, in Ottumwa, the son of Claude Ray Wright and May Elaine Truitt Wright.

      Mr. Wright attended schools in Ottumwa. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1950. He had operated Pizza Hut, George's Pizza and The Little Shop in Fairfield. During his latter years, he was superintendent on construction and a cabinet maker by trade.
