Olive M. Murphy

      Olive M. Murphy, 92, of Washington, died on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005, at McCreedy Home, after failing in health for the past three months.

      Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, at Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington, with the Rev. Ralph Draper officiating. Visitation will begin at noon Tuesday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 Tuesday evening. Interment will take place at Oregon Township Cemetery in Ainsworth. A memorial fund has been established for Salem Church of God in rural Ainsworth.

      Olive M. Murphy was born Oct. 8, 1912, in rural Ainsworth, to Lewis and Pearl (Foster) Coon. She attended Highland Center Country School in Highland Township. On Jan. 5, 1936, she was united in marriage to William E. Lewis. He died in 1937. Olive was later married to William Robert Murphy on Jan. 20, 1944.
