Omar L. Traut

Omar Laverne Traut, 92, of Washington, died Friday, Oct. 10, at Washington County Hospital.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, at Beatty Funeral Home in Washington, with family present. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Julie Poulsen officiating. Burial will be at Forrest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant, with military honors.

A general memorial has been established.

He was born April 23, 1916, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Cecil and Nellie Holland Traut. On July 9, 1935, he married Dorothy Sloan Lucas in Mt. Pleasant; they later divorced. In October 1966, he married Stella Utt Bullock in Farmington; she died in 1997. On Sept. 14, 1999, he married Evelyn Swailes; she died in 2007.
