Omar Laverne Traut

      Omar Laverne Traut, 92, of Washington, died Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, in the Washington County Hospital following declining health.

      Funeral services were at 11 a.m. today in the Beatty Funeral home in Washington with the Rev. Julie Poulsen officiating. Burial with military honors followed in the Forrest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. A general memorial fund has been established.

      Mr. Traut was born April 23, 1916, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Cecil Columbus and Nellie (Holland) Traut. He married Dorothy Sloan Lucas on July 9, 1935 in Mt. Pleasant. The later divorced. He married Stella Blanch Utt (Bullock) in October 1966 in Farmington. She died April 24, 1997. He married Evelyn Swailes on Sept. 14, 1999. She died on Oct. 4, 2007.
