Opal F. Garland
Opal Faye Garland, 97, of Luling, La., formerly of New London, died Sunday, June 8, at West Jefferson General Hospital in Marrero, La.
Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 14, at Lunning Chapel, with family present at 9:30 a.m. A funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Dot Hasler officiating. Burial will be at Long Creek Cemetery in Danville.
A memorial has been established for New London Rescue.
She was born May 21, 1911 in Carthage, Ill., the daughter of Joseph Ray and Hazel Kleckner Hobart. On Jan. 30, 1936, she married James Garland in Danville.
