Opal M. Johnson April 18, 1917 - November 13, 2005

      Opal Mae Johnson, 88, of Salem, formerly of the Fairfield and Birmingham communities, died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005, at Pleasant Manor Care Center in Mt. Pleasant.

      The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16 at Salem Friends Church in Salem, with the Revs. Tom Palmer and Dave Elmore officiating. The graveside service will be at 2 p.m. in Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham. Visitation will be from 2 to 7:30 p.m. today at Beatty-Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, with family present from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Memorials have been established to the activity fund at Pleasant Manor Care Center and to Salem Friends Church.

      Mrs. Johnson was born April 18, 1917, northeast of Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of John E. and Ida Pearl Schulz Lee.
