Orval Yoder

      WELLMAN - Orval J. Yoder, 84, of Wellman, formerly of Windham, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, at University of Iowa Hospitals, of a sudden illness.

      Celebration of Life services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 14, 2005, at Kalona United Methodist Church in Kalona, with the Rev. Mark Jagnow officiating. Burial will be in Sharon Hill Cemetery in Kalona, with military rites accorded by American Legion Oxford Post # 0537. Visitation began this morning and will continue until 8 this evening, at Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. Memorials may be directed to Windham Community Church or the Cosgrove Institute.

      Mr. Yoder was born on Dec. 20, 1920, in rural Kalona, to Emery and Vertie (Gingerich) Yoder. On March 18, 1942, he married Claretta Widmer, at his family home.
