John S. Minick, 82, of Washington, died Saturday, May 9, 2009, in the Washington County Hospital in Washington following a decline in health.    Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, at St. James Catholic Church in Washington with the Rev. Paul Appel officiating.  Burial will take place at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington with military honors conducted by Washington American Legion Post 29. 

Richard A. Knupp, 86, of Columbus Junction, formerly of Washington, died Friday, May 8, 2009, at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington, following a lengthy illness.    Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 14, at the Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington with the Rev. Al Coffin officiating.  A private burial will be held with the family at a later date.  Visitation will begin at noon Wednesday at

KALONA ? Myrna Furman, 91, of Washington, died Thursday, May 7, 2009, in United Presbyterian Home in Washington, due to aging.    Graveside services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 13, at the Beauchamp Cemetery in rural Crawfordsville, with the Rev. Kitch Shatzer officiating.  Burial will be in Beauchamp Cemetery.  There will be no visitation.  Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona is handling the arrangements.   

Sue Ann Golden, 66, of Washington, died Saturday, May 9, 2009, at the Washington Care Center in Washington, following a lengthy illness.    Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 14, at the Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington with Dave Stoufer officiating.  A private burial service will be held at a later time with the family.  Visitation will begin at noon Wednesday at the funeral home where the family

Dorothy Vivian Kirkpatrick, 83, of Lone Tree, died Thursday, May 7, 2009, in Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, after a long battle with congestive heart failure.    Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 9, at the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Lone Tree with the Rev. BRIGHTON    Roberta Ledger, 70, of Brighton, died Monday, May 11, 2009, at her home, following a brief illness.    A Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 15, at Ss. Joseph and Cabrini Church in East Pleasant Plain with the Rev. Charles J. Fladung and the Rev.
