Storm dampens Wednesday fair events
Events held at the Washington County Fair Wednesday evening were postponed for over an hour due to the threat of a second wave of severe storms moving through the county. The fair board, feeling the 'better safe than sorry' approach was called for with reports of 75 mph winds, halted the goat show and warned people that severe weather was bearing down on the area. COLUMBUS JUNCTION - John Storm, 47, of Columbus Junction died Wednesday, July 18, 2007 in his home. There will be no funeral service. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 20 in the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home. A memorial fund has been established. Mr. Storm was born Dec. 24, 1959 in Sigourney, the son of Fern (Janssen) Storm.
