Melba M. Hester, 81, of Mount Sterling, died at 4:40 a.m. Thursday, March 15, 2007, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.      A service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Bill Shewmaker officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton.      Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 4-5 p.m.   

Karl W. Hinkle, 90, of Eugene, Ore., died from lymphoma Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006.      No memorial service was held. The body has been cremated.      Mr. Hinkle was born April 15, 1916, in Lockridge, the son of Ernest and Nettie Alliman Hinkle.
