John Robert Day, 87, of Washington died Monday, Jan. 8, 2007, at Halcyon House in Washington following a lengthy illness.      Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at the United Presbyterian Church in Washington, with the Rev. Kitch Shatzer officiating. Burial will take place at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Three Fairfield residents, Richard L. Blakeney, Sholn Marie and Khyle Kelly, were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Highway 218 and G-36 intersection in Washington County.      According to an Iowa State Patrol minimal report, a 1999 International truck owned by Maher Brothers Transfer of Iowa City and driven by 44-year-old Jon F. Victor Centro, 82, of Fairfield, IA, formerly of Carson City, NV, died Sunday, January 7, 2007 in Fairfield,      According to his wishes, his body will be cremated and the ashes laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Nancy. Arthur E. Rommel, 91, of Cedar Rapids, and formerly of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Monday, Jan. 8, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids following a short illness.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 13, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Mt. Merna Rose Ulm, 90, of Fairfield, died Monday evening, Jan. 8, 2007, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield following a brief illness.      A funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.
