Vernon Pike died on Sunday, Nov. 26.A memorial will be held at the Congregational Church in Murphy's at a later date. Memorial services will also be held at Aptos Community Church in Aptos at a later date. His ashes will be scattered at sea off the Monterey coast.

Eileen Holtkamp, 77, of Houghton, died at 3:45 A.M. on Wednesday Nov. 29, at the Donnellson Health Center.      Funeral services are pending at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in West Point.

Hom Lovan, 80, of Wayland, died on Monday, Nov. 27, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.Funeral Services have been set for 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2, at the Wayland Mennonite Church, with Pastors Gerry Klopfenstein and Pam Unruh officiating. Following the service his body will be cremated and inurnment will take place at a later date at the North Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon

Horn Lovan, 80, of Wayland, died on Monday, Nov. 27, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.      Arrangements are pending at the Beatty Funeral Home in Wayland.

Thomas D. and Shelli Jo Sheetz died Wednesday, November 8, 2006 in a tragic motorcycle accident in Queen Creek, Arizona.      Tom Sheetz was born February 10, 1955 in Washington, Iowa the son of Dale W. and Laura J. (Murphy) Sheetz. He graduated from Washington High School with the class of 1973, and then attended college at the University of Iowa. Willie Taylor, 77, of Washington died Monday, Nov. 27, 2006 in the Washington County Hospital following a brief illness.      Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30 in the Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington with the Rev. Dean Elmore officiating. Visitation will be held prior to and following the service in the funeral home from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Visitation will also be held at 1 p.m.

KALONA - Everette Paul Simmering, 82, of Kalona, formerly of Washington, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006 in his home following a short illness.      Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29 in the Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington. RIVERSIDE - Sgt. James P. Musack, 23, of Riverside was killed in action on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2006 in Samarra, Iraq.      Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 30 in the Highland High School gymnasium, south of Riverside, with Chaplain William Kneemiller officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Public Cemetery with full military rites by the Iowa National Guard. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m.

George Gottlieb Mundinger, 85, of Mt. Pleasant, and formerly of New London, died on Wednesday, Nov. 22, at Van Vorhies Haus in Mt.
